    Het monument in het Wilhelminapark te Gorinchem is opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan alle medeburgers die tijdens de bezettingsjaren door oorlogshandelingen zijn omgekomen. Hoewel het gedenkteken van algemene strekking is, verwijst het beeld vooral naar de razzia van oktober 1944, die zovele gezinnen lange tijd in onzekerheid en later ook gedeeltelijk in rouw liet verkeren.
