    Willem overleed op 7 mei op 48-jarige leeftijd door schotwonden volgens de Verklaring van Overlijden en het document Staatspolitie; echter de officiële overlijdensakte heeft een onjuiste opmaak en daarmee dus ook de advertentie, men spreekt van 8 mei 1945.
    Willem is begraven op de Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats.
