Adolphus Haganaeus (Wanthuis 101) gaf op dat hij garentwijnder was. In het conceptkohier staat "praeceptor" (leraar aan de Latijnse school) als beroep. Uit het kohier van de personele quotisatie van 1742 blijkt dat hij beide beroepen combineerde. Dit hoeft echter niet te betekenen dat hij zich behalve met lesgeven ook met het twijnen van garen bezighield.

Adolphus Haganeus, hadden elk tussen de f 800 en f 1.000 neveninkomsten. De laatste had als beroep praeceptor en garentwijnder opgegeven. Dat betekent niet dat hij zelf als twijnder werkte. Vermoedelijk had hij - misschien via een erfenis van zijn vrouw - een werkhuis, waar arbeiders voor hem de twijnmolens bedienden.
