Notes about Pieter Albert van Hagen

Hij was net als zijn vader en zijn schoonvader organist. Eerst in Bergen op Zoom 1776-1782 later in Zutphen 1782 – 1789. Hij gaf muziekles onder andere aan zijn zwager Jan Louis Freubel.Ze vestigden zich in september 1796 in Boston en namen de naam Von Hagen aan. Hij was ook muziekhandelaar en uitgever en dirigeerde ook een theaterorkest. Hij was organist in de Stone Chapell van 1798 tot 1803. Zijn zoon, Peter Albrecht von Hagen jr. nam het stokje over als muzikant en componist. Elisabeth componeerde zelf, en het is soms moeilijk om bepaalde stukken toe te schrijven aan de vader, de moeder of de zoon. lford Castle (1797) en verschillende toneel- of theatermuziek, zoals The Battle of Hexham (1797) - Columbus, of The Discovery of America (1800) - Zorinski, of Vrijheid aan de Stenen (1797). We zijn hem ook Funeral Dirge verschuldigd voor George Washington (1799), een Federal Overture (1797) en liederen en marsen.
