Notes about Johann Niclas Schott

beroep ruiter in de compagnie van ritmeester van Eck (1708), korporaal artillerie (1735). Uit de kinderen van het eerste huwelijk kwamen zeer veel nakomelingen. Johann Nikolaus kwam tijdens de Spaanse successie oorlog als soldaat naar de Nederlanden en verbleef als militair oa in Arnhem (22 september 1715), Zevenaar en Namen voordat hij zich, met zijn kinderen, als korporaal schoenmaker in Bergen op Zoom vestigde. Zijn eerste vrouw Huibertje Schrijvers was toen al overleden. Johann Nikolaus Schott werd later meestal vermeld als Nicolaas Schot. Hij was de voorouder van alle personen met de naam Schot uit de archieven uit de 19e eeuw van Zeeland en Bergen op Zoom.
