In 1517 is er een boedelscheiding (magescheid) van het huis de Kamp. buurtschap Hoonte, kerspel Neede, tussen de kinderen Rutger, Elsken, Hadewich, Frederik en Andries van Barmentloo.
De Barmentloo's, afkomstig uit Ravensburg, Westfalen, die reeds in de eerste helft van de 11de eeuw in Neede woonden, zaten in de 16de eeuw op havezate de Kamp.
In de familie van Barmentloo was het ambt van markerichter erfelijk in de buurtschap Hoonte en Nedervlier. Deze had de bijl in bewaring waarmee hij, gesterkt door de holtrichters, het ieder jaar in demarke te vellen hout voor de markegenoten kerfde.
