Zie artikel WFF maart 1996. Blijkens een artikel in het blad 'Noord-Holland in woord en beeld' van 1925 waren zij voornemens dat jaar op 11 februari hun zestig-jarig huwelijk te vieren. De datum is kennelijk die van hun kerkelijk huwelijk. Maar onderzoek heeft aangetoond dat het paar zich een jaar heeft vergist. 'Hopelijk hebben zij het heugelijke feit wel gevierd, aangezien zij hun echte diamanten huwelijksfeest niet meer hebben kunnen vieren', aldus Cor Oudendijk.

Ze vestigden zich in Heerhugowaard, maar verhuisden medio 1868 naar Harenkarspel waar zij een houten huisje betrokken aan de Smuigel, waar ze 57 jaar woonden.
