    Het oorlogsmonument in Holten (gemeente Rijssen-Holten) is opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan zes Nederlandse soldaten die in de meidagen van 1940 in de strijd tegen de bezetter gesneuveld zijn, aan 38 joodse medeburgers en verzetsmensen die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog door oorlogshandelingen om het leven zijn gekomen en aan twee plaatsgenoten die bij de strijd in voormalig Nederlands-Indië zijn omgekomen.

Daniël Pagrach was getrouwd met Jane Dormits. Ze hadden een zoon Louis Jacob en een dochter Bela. Het gezin woonde op het adres A 220 in Holten. Daniël en zijn zoon Louis Jacob waren beide slager en veehandelaar. Louis Jacob Pagrach moest naar Wittebrink in Hummelo; één van de joodse werkkampen. Vandaar is hij op 2 oktober 1942 naar Westerbork vervoerd en vervolgens naar Duitsland op transport gesteld. De overige gezinsleden zijn op 10 april 1943 vanuit Holten met een bus naar Westerbork gebracht en vandaar naar Duitsland
Daniël Pagrach en Jane Dormits hadden een kind en twee kleinkinderen die de oorlog hebben overleefd.
