Notes about Dina van der Velde

Terwijl Zutphen op 8 april bevrijd was, verhevigden de oorlogshandelingen zich in de gemeente Voorst ter voorbereiding van de Canadese oversteek van de IJssel. Vanaf het middaguur werden die maandag aanvallen uitgevoerd op verschillende Duitse geschutsopstellingen. Een van de stellingen was geplaatst bij de spoorwegovergang aan de Gravenstraat. Deze werd door geallieerde jachtvliegtuigen aangevallen met splinterbommen.
Een van de splinterbommen trof een boerderij aan de Enkweg, waar vijf volwassen kinderen en een evacué omkwamen.
Aan een zijweggetje van de Enkweg raakte een man zwaar gewond door de scherven van een van de splinterbommen. Hij werd naar het noodhospitaal op De Beele gebracht werd, waar hij een dag later overleed.
