locomotiefbankwerker met een salaris van 12 cent per uur, gedurende tien uur per dag, en 6 dagen in de week.
Op 30 augustus 1903 is zijn salaris verhoogd met 1 cent per uur.
Hij heeft bij het Staatsspoorwegen in Utrecht gewerkt tot den 5 april 1904.
August is vanaf 5 april 1904 tot en met 12 augustus 1917, als machinebankwerker bij de Hollandse ijzeren spoorwegmaatschappij in dienst geweest, in Haarlem.
Zijn laatste genoemde uurloon bedroeg toen 27 cent.
August is vervolgens bij Philips gloeilampen gaan werken, vanaf
3 augustus 1925 tot 21 januari 1926 , hij is op eigenverzoek gegaan.
Waarna August is gaan werken bij Leon van Avermaete in Den Haag, en wel vanaf 1 maart 1927 tot en met 18 november 1927. Hij is daar wegens slapte in het bedrijf ontslagen.
