Mathilda tenslotte volgt het voorbeeld van vrijwel al haar broers en zussen. Ze is hoog zwanger als ze op 16 jarige leeftijd op 28 maart 1900 trouwt met de 23 jarige Johannes Kalksma. Drie weken laterwordt hun eerste kind geboren, dat 3 maanden later overlijdt. Er moeten nog ten minste drie andere kinderen uit dit huwelijk zijn geboren. Een van hen overleeft en trouwt later. Verder gegevens over dit gezin zijn niet bekend.
