op 11 maart 1890 is Anthony ingeschreven in het Militieregister onder stamboeknummer 34673. Hij is op eigen verzoek op 18 november 1891 gedetacheerd bij de landmacht in N.Indië (3e regiment infanterie). Op 2 januari 1892 (zie foto met sabel) heeft hij getekend voor 6 jaar (stamboeknummer 33185 of 23532) en vertrekt hij vanuit Amsterdam per boot, het stoomschip de Sumatra, naar Batavia en komt daar aan op 13 februari 1892. Uiteindelijk heeft Anthony nog een keer voor 6 jaar bijgetekend en is op 27 juli 1904 weer aangekomen met het stoomschip Prins Hendrik in Amsterdam. Anthony heeft dus de verschrikkelijke veldslagen meegemaakt in Atjeh o.a. onder leiding van de beruchte Generaal van Heutsz die altijd aangaf dat het allemaal wel mee viel! Het moet wel haast zo zijn dat Anthony daar toch problemen mee heeft gehad met wat hij daar allemaal heeft meegemaakt.


Op 16 mei 1906 trouwt Anthony in Rotterdam met Hendrika Johanna Kraaijvanger. Hendrika is afstammelinge van een voornaam geslacht van Kraaijvangers. Deze stamboom gaat terug tot Richardus Craeyvanger geboren begin 16e eeuw. De stamboom van de Kok gaat terug tot Lourens Pieter de Kok (1677-1733).


Het gezin van Anthony en Hendrika vertrekt 4 november 1913 van Rotterdam, Goudsesingel nabij de "Boschjeskerk" naar Lindelaan 58 te Zwijndrecht.
