Hij werd op 25 augustus 1940 in Wisconsin geboren als zoon van Irma en Antone Linskens.


Dave studeerde af aan de Kaukauna High School en diende vervolgens zijn land in het Amerikaanse leger. Hierna ging hij grafisch ontwerp studeren in Chicago.


Op 2 juni 1987 trouwde hij met de liefde van zijn leven, Elizabeth Ann Marsh en samen kregen ze een prachtig gezin.


David was zelfstandig ondernemeren gebruikte zijn vaardigheden in grafisch ontwerp om op zeer creatieve manieren bij te dragen aan verschillende bedrijven. Hij gebruikte zijn creativiteit om prachtige familienaamborden te maken diehij bekendstond om het cadeau doen aan zijn vrienden en familie.


Dave hield echt van jagen en forelvissen. Hij was ervan overtuigd dat hij "in elke rivier in Wisconsin had gevist". Een van zijn favoriete bezigheden was naar het noorden gaan naar Pembine en tijd doorbrengen in de hut met zijn broers en vrienden.


 Hij keek er altijd naar uit om elke week met zijn vrienden naar een lokale bar in Kaukauna te gaan. Hij genoot ook enorm van zijn bezoekjes aan zijn schoonzus, Lois, elke andere dinsdag.


Bovenal hield hij ervan om tijd door te brengen met zijn dochter, Lindsay. Een van hun mooiste herinneringen door de jaren heen was het samen naar de Christmas Eve Candlelight-dienst in de Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church gaan.


David laat zijn dochter Lindsay (Paul) Gretzinger, stiefzoon Cory (Kristy) Schmitt, kleindochters Lilah, Rosalie en Ivy en schoonzus Lois Linskens achter.


Hij werd voorafgegaan in de dooddoor zijn ouders, zijn vrouw Betty, broers Eugene (Lavern), Anthony, Donald (Audrey) Linskens en zus Joyce (Earl) Kelling.
