Wat leuk is om te weten is dat de naam Driessen een patroniem is. (De zoon van Dries) Als dit klopt moet één van de voorvaderen Dries geheten hebben. In onze situatie blijkt dit volledig te kloppen. Andreas (Dries) Hermans van Dinteren geboren in ongeveer 1700 blijkt de man te zijn waarnaar alle Driessens zijn vernoemd. Opmerkelijk is dat andere nakomelingen van hem dit patroniem (Driessen) hebben gelaten voor wat het was. Zij bleven zich van Dinteren (en alle variaties daarop zoals vanDinter en van Dinten) noemen.
