Zijn zoon Dorus werd in Baaswille geboren.

Baaswiller is het huidige Baesweiler, ten noorden van Aken. Het dorp lag aan de romeinse heerweg tussen Maastricht en Aken. In de loop der eeuwen is er vaak om het bezit van dit gebied strijd geleverd. Sommige bewoners zijn zelfs tijdens hun leven vijf keer van nationaliteit veranderd (vaak zonder dat ze dat zelf in de gaten hadden).
Dorus is overleden op 31 juli 1811. Hij woonde toen aan de Koningstraat in Dokkum.
Aangifte van overlijden werd gedaan door W.P.van Gelder en Johannes ten Huls "in qualiteit als administrerende voogden der Roomsche Gemeente alhier"
