Kees werd door zijn vader èn geboorte in Bussum erfgooier en behoorde bij de "scharenden".
Kees liep vroeger telkens van huis weg en dook dan onder bij Opoe of tante Mien, waar hij dan weer werd opgehaald. Kees werd beroepsofficier in Ede.

Kees werd in het Gooi ook "Vosje" genoemd. Hij bracht bijna dag en nacht door op de paardenbaan in Hilversum. Hij was scharend erfgooier. Hij was beroepsofficier bij de Marechaussee in Ede. Hij was mede oprichter (1944) van de Eenheids Vakcentrale (communistische), EVC, door invloed van tante Mina uit Ede, op haar beurt het zwarte schaap in de familie
