L'enrÛlement ne concernait que les personnes du Tiers-Etat et certaines charges exemptaient de milice. Le jeune qui tirait un mauvais numéro devait effectuer son service ( souvent 6 ans ) pour le compte de la communauté (cf. Régiment d'Anjou ).
Quand les moyens familaux le permettait, il se faisait remplacer contre espèces sonnantes et trébuchantes. Ce contrat de remplacement faisait généralement l'objet d'un acte notarié.

- Johannes STUEDER, the son, citizen of Lautenbach and guardian of the 3 children of his late brother

Catharina GREBERin, wife of Johannes STUEDER is absent.

29.4.1756 in Lautenbach. Inventory and sharing after the dead of Andreas STUDTER, citizen, between his widow and their 3 children under age: Johannes, Gangolff and Agatha. The widow is assisted by Hans Ge√Ѭ±rg SCHAFFER, citizen of Lautenbach. Johannes STUDTER is the guardian of the 3 children. Marriage contract of 1.2.1747. Morgengaab (dowry) 100 livres Balois.
'A house near the 'Stifftkirchen' (church) between on one side Anthony GALLY and the 'Muhlbach', on the other side Claus KAUFMANN, in the front the 'Muhlbach, and in the back Anthony GALLY. A 'Hoffreüthen' and a garden in the 'Ober dorff'. Tools of the weaver: 1 'Webstuhl',1 'Stuelrad', 18 'Weber geschin', 3 'weberschifflen', 1 Zettelram'. Cattle: 2 goats, 1 cock, 4 chickens. Debtors: Joahnnes STUDTER the old for linnen 2 livres Balois, Heinrich ERNY almost 100 livres Balois.
