From 'Les vieilles familles du Sundgau' tome 2, page 92. In the 'notariat d'Altkirch' there are two marriage contracts of 'Lidin', those of two brothers, sons of Jacques LUDI and Elisabeth GROSSER from Hirsingue. Pierre LUDI, husband of Barbara, daughter of Pierre BRAND from Bettendorf, passed the contract on 14.7.1700, eight weeks after the marriage and becomes a 'Morgengaab' (dowry) of 60 'florins'. Daniel LIDIN, married with Anne Marie PFLIEGER from Hirtzbach, signed the contract on 5.6.1696 and got a dowry of 100 florins. This couple was married since 1692.
