Théophile Emile Achille de Bock was een Nederlands kunstschilder behorend bij de Haagse School.
De Bock was aanvankelijk ambtenaar bij de Hollandsche IIzeren Spoorwegmij. Hij ontving zijn schildersopleiding van Jan Willem van Borselen en van Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch. De kunstschilder Jacob Maris was het grote voorbeeld voor De Bock. Tussen 1878 en 1880 was hij aangesloten bij de School van Barbizon waarvan ook invloeden in zijn werk terug zijn te vinden. In 1881 werkte hij mee aan het Panorama Mesdag van Hendrik Willem Mesdag. Hij schilderde daarin de lucht en de duinen. Als alternatief voor Pulchri Studio werd in 1891 op initiatief van De Bock de Haagsche Kunstkring opgericht. Théophile de Bock overleed op 53-jarige leeftijd.
De Bock richtte zich vooral op het Nederlandse landschap, zoals de hunebedden in Drenthe. Zijn landschappen zijn vaak zwaar en somber.

Na het huwelijk van zijn ouders op 20 september 1854 te ဘs-Gravenhage werd de ruim drie jaar tevoren geboren Theophile geëcht. Over zijn jeugd zijn de bronnen schaars. In ieder geval verhuisde hij op driejarige leeftijd naar Delft. Tevoren had Heinrichs echtscheiding van zijn overspelige eerste vrouw geleid tot diens ontslag uit militaire dienst, waar hij in de rang van luitenant der infanterie nog had meegedaan aan de veldtochten van 1831-1834. Via een familierelatie werd hij gouvernementsbeambte aan de Stapel- en Constructiemagazijnen in Delft. Theophile zou in deze plaats zijn jeugdjaren doorbrengen tot zijn vertrek naar Den Haag in 1869. Hij kreeg daar als achttienjarige een baan bij de Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg Maatschappij.
Maar hij bleek ongeschikt voor een kantoorbaan. Ook tijdens zijn werk was hij trouw vergezeld van zijn schilderkist. Vaak ging hij erop uit om in de natuur te schilderen, waarbij hij zichzelf de techniek aanleerde. Weldra werd hij dan ook ontslagen. Hij vroeg nog een vrijkaartje om drie maanden per trein te reizen, omdat hij juist langs de lijn met iets bezig was. Dat werd hem geweigerd. √¨Wat zo·Äòn trein iemand toch in de wielen kan rijden.âˆšÆ Nu moest hij, zeer tegen de zin van zijn vader, van zijn hobby zijn broodwinning maken.
