Born in the Netherlands, Jannetje emigrated to the US. She was married to Jakob Verhey, who was 15 years her senior. She is an ancestor of not only the Verhey Family but also the Noteboom, Groen and Rijsdam families. The relationship to the Kuyper family is made through the marriages of Adrianus Kuyper to Gertrude Rijsdam and her stepchildren Virgil and Ray O'Brien; the marriage of John Heezen to Margaret Groen, who has connections with the Noteboom family.
