Notes about William James van den Dever

James Vanden Oever: Jim passed away October 17, 2009 at the Lucas County Health Center. Services for James Vanden Oever, 78, were held Tuesday, October 13, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family received friends Monday at the funeral home. Interment was held in the Gosport Cemetery. Memorials are beign accepted to Columbia United Methodist Church, Columbia Rescue Unit, or Circle of Life Hospice.

Jim was born in Oskaloosa to William and Alice Vanden Oever. He attended the Given and Cordova Country Schools in the Oskaloosa and Pella area. He was married to Evelyn Van Hal in 1951. They were blessed with three children: Leland, Jacqueline, and Julie. Jim loved his family and always enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was described as a good honest man. He was a farmer, bus driver for the Chariton School District for 30 plus years, and also worked for the Lucas County ASCS office.
