De St. Janskerk
Nadat ook de tweede noodkerk op het Zeveneind te klein was geworden en in 1796 de zoogenaamde vrijheid van godsdienst werd ingesteld, kon men de reeds lang gekoesterde plannen om een groote kerk te stichten in de kom van het dorp tot uitvoering brengen, dank zij ook de milddadigheid van mejufrouw de weduwe van Christiaan velthuijsen, die het daarvoor geschikt perceel aan de Brink aan de parochie schonk.
Op 14 oktober 1845 werd deze kerk door mgr. Wijkersloot geconsacreerd en dienzelfden dag werd de nieuwe St. Janskerk in gebruik genomen.
