Het lijkt erop dat zijn achternaam voor zijn huwelijk met Christina van Os veranderd is van De Laruwière naar Kraat. Is hij ondergedoken voor de legers van Napoleon?
Was zijn naam Jacobus Philippus De Laruwière? We weten het (nog) niet.
Met als ouders Franciscus Josephus De Laruwiere en Maria Schipman?

De stamboom loopt hier (voorlopig) dood. Veel van de akten van burgerlijke stand van Oostende en trouwens op veel plaatsen in West-Vlaanderen zijn tijdens WW II beschadigd of vernietigd bij bombardementen en gevechten. De oorlogsschade was enorm. We zullen moeten afwachten of er nog akten beschikbaar komen om de stamboom verder te bouwen, terug in de tijd.
