Rhoon (auteur L.W. Hordijk, Brielle 1981)): Voor Marijtje met Laurens Simonsz
Hordijk trouwt heeft zij al heel wat meegemaakt. In 1800 leert Marijtje, toen in
Overschie woonachtig, een zekere Hendrik Hendriksz Verhagen kennen, wonende in
Pernis. Bij deze kennismaking blijft het echter niet, zij raken verwikkeld in
vergaande minnekozingen, en ja, op 22.9.1801 wordt een dochter geboren. Hendrik
laakt zijn vaderlijke verplichtingen en weigert met Maria Hordijk te trouwen.
Maria's vader, Arie hordijk, besluit dan ook om maatregelen te nemen, temeer
omdat het kind kort na de geboorte is overleden en zij niet bij machte is de
begrafeniskosten te betalen. Zij verzoeken dan ook om pro deo te kunnen
procederen tegen de genoemde Hendrik Verhagen. Dit verzoek wordt op 4 december
1801 door schout en schepenen van Overschie, aan wie dit verzoek blijkbaar moest
worden gericht, ingewilligd, nadat zij van de waarlijk armoedige omstandigheden
van Arie Hordijk en zijn dochter Marijtje Hordijk waren overtuigd. In 1802
worden vervolgens te Pernis verscheidenen rechtdagen gehouden, Maria Hordijk
moet uiteraard het gebeurde nauwkeurig omschrijven. Zij verklaart ten overstaan
van schout en schepenen van Pernis dat zij door Hendrik Verhagen zodanig is
geseduceerd en ten val gebracht, "dat hij met haar heeft gepleegd gehad
vleeschelijke conversatie, waardoor zij bezwangerd is geworden". Hendrik
Verhagen wordt veroordeeld tot een schadeloosstelling van in totaal f 130.- of
met Maria Hordijk te trouwen. Dit laatste is echter niet gebeurd, ongetwijfeld
ook door gebrek aan wederzijdse genegenheid.
