    Annie Lievaart (Lodder) of Nanton, Alberta passed away peacefully at her home at the
    Silver Willow Lodge on January 30, 2012 at the age of 95 years. Annie was born in Pernis, Holland on May 17, 1916, the 10th of eleven children. She was a kindergarten teacher until her marriage in October, 1939 to Joe Lievaart. In 1948 Annie and Joeimmigrated to Canada with their two small children, Janneke and Hans. Their first home was in the Gladys Ridge district with family as sponsors. They were employees of Alec Paul for four years before striking out on their own on a farm east of HighRiver. In 1960 Annie and Joe and their now four children purchased their farm on the Little Bow River east of Nanton. They moved to their home in Nanton in 1984 and Annie resided there until 2009 when the Silver Willow Lodge became home. Annie wasfirst and foremost a mother and a “home” maker. Her family was her priority and her caring nature went beyond her husband and children to extended family and friends. She was a faithful attendee of the Nanton United Church and a lifetime member ofthe UCW. She enjoyed flower gardening and was an avid knitter with many being the benefactors of her talents.
    She will be missed but held close in fond memories by her children; Janneke (Bert) Ruitenschild, Hans (Carol) Lievaart, Paul (Beth) Lievaart and Trina (Ron) Wickstrom; her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland.
    A Funeral service was held at the Nanton Parkland United Church on February 2, 2012 with internment following in the Nanton cemetery.
    Those wishing to remember Annie with a memorial donation may consider the Nanton-Parkland United Church, 2121 21st Street, Nanton, AB T0L 1R0. Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River. (403-652-2222).
