Er zijn een aantal Joannessen van Gorp/Gurp/Gorcum geboren in Tilburg rond 1710-1740, maar maar twee van wie de namen van de ouders overeenkomen met zijn kinderen. Dit is waarschijnlijk Joannes van Gorp van 1730, of misschien uit 1712 (maar dat is best oud om in 1756 nog J.M. te zijn) beide met een Wilhelmus van Gorp als vader.

Er zijn te Joannessen van Gorp in de buurt overleden in korte tijd, en geen van allen noemen de naam van zijn weduwe.
