Notes about Elizabeth Wilson

Elizabeth Wilson was afkomstig van Saba, maar een geboorteakte is nog niet gevonden. Ze had naar verluid drieëntwintig broers en zussen. Lezen en schrijven heeft ze nooit geleerd. Ze trouwde nooit, maar kreeg wel vijf kinderen bij tenminste vier verschillende mannen, waaronder waarschijnlijk Thomas Charles Vanterpool (1865->1941) en Thomas Azariah Gumbs Hughes (1895-?). Dora (1915-1999), en Alvin (?-?) werden geboren op Saba, Ozzy (1923-1994) en Claude (1936-2004) op Sint Maarten en Julian (1937-1940) op Curaçao. Eind jaren ’30 verhuisde ze definitief naar Aruba waar ze als huishoudster werkte voor een Amerikaans gezin. In 1972 bezocht ze haar dochter Dora op Trinidad en overleed toen aldaar. Ze is begraven op Aruba.

Kon tijdens het huwelijk van dochter Dora (1938) niet schrijven.

Had ongeveer 24 broers en zussen, wonende op Curaçao. Jongste zus heette Hannah (Johanna?).
Vermoedelijke ouders: Theophilius Wilson en Johanna Every, van Saba.
