Notes about Hendrikus Johannes "Henri" den Nieuwenboer

Henri den Nieuwenboer groeide op in Leiden samen met twee broers. Na het volbrengen van zijn militaire dienst (1882-1886) ging hij werken voor de coupeursfirma Gebr. Domhoff te Rotterdam. Daar leerde hij zijn eerste vrouw Gerarda Zegers (1866-1895) kennen. In 1895 verhuisde hij mijn zijn vrouw en dochter Maria (1890-1924) naar Nijmegen. Daar opende hij een nieuwe vestiging voor de Gebr. Domhoff. Zijn vrouw Gerarda overleed nog datzelfde jaar. Na zijn tweede huwelijk in 1897 met Emilia Wettelings (1868-1966) kreeg hij nog twee kinderen, Theo (1898-1944) en Milly (1902-1996). Hij overleed op drieënvijftigjarige leeftijd aan tuberculose.
