Notes about Derk Koldewijn

Derk Koldewijn werd geboren op de papiermolen Winckewijert in Beekbergen, vlakbij Apeldoorn, en stamt uit een geslacht van papiermolenaars. Tussen 1857 en 1862 vervulde hij zijn militaire dienst. In 1867 richt hij samen met zijn neef Teunis Koldewijn (1840-1922) de papierwarenfabriek D&T Koldewijn op in Dordrecht. In 1919 wordt de fabriek naar Apeldoorn verplaatst en werd later voortgezet door zijn zoon Jochem Jacobus Koldewijn (1873-1921) en achterneef Teunis Koldewijn jr. (1883-1973). De fabriek, gelegen aan het Kanaal Zuid, produceerde tot omstreeks 1975 papierwaren. In 2006 is het gebouw gesloopt.

Vervulde tussen 15-05-1857 en 15-05-1862 zijn dienstplicht.
