Hij was een neef van Janna Oskam, de stiefmoeder van Teunis Bos. Het waren allebei achterkleinkinderen van Jan Ariens Oskam en Grietje Jansdochter Bosch (D4.13). En zijn vrouw – Neeltje Willempje Bosman – was een halfzus van Marretje Bosman, die vrouw van Pieter Doornenbal (C8.8). Ook was zij een nicht van Marretje Hoogendoorn de moeder van Johanna de Lange, de eerste vrouw van Teunis Bos..
  • (Anecdote) in the year 1906: Teunis Bos hertrouwde op 45 jarige leeftijd in de gemeente Laagnieuwkoop op donderdag 3 februari 1921 met de 26 jarige Grietje Oskam. De hele familie was op hun bruiloft aanwezig (zie fotogalerij). Grietje werd geboren in Vinkeveen, in het buurtschap Achterbos vlakbij Waverveen op vrijdag 18 mei 1894. Ze was een dochter van Neeltje Willempje Bosman en Gerrit Oskam, die daar veenboer was. Grietje had tenminste vier broers en twee zussen. Toen ze 9 was, in het jaar 1903 verhuisden ze naar de boerderij gelegen te Portengen 15 in de gemeente Laagnieuwkoop, waar haar moeder geboren was. Daar had haar oom Arie Bosman een boerenbedrijf. Hij was weduwnaar van Jansje Doornenbal, een dochter van Reijer Doornenbal de oudste broer van Pieter Doornenbal (C8). Jansje was overleden op de boerderij in Portengen op 3 oktober 1900, ze werd maar 33 jaar oud. Ze hadden zes kleine kinderen en Arie Bosman (die twee jaar jonger was als zijn overleden vrouw) woonde daar met hen en zijn 72 jarige moeder Johanna Schouten. Hij kon het werk niet aan en de 45 jarige Gerrit Oskam nam de bedrijfsleiding over van zijn zwager. Arie Bosman hertrouwde op 26 november 1903 en vestigde zich met vrouw en kinderen in Harmelen. Een jaar later, op 29 december 1904 stierf Johanna Schouten in de boerderij te Portengen 15 en vervolgens kocht Gerrit Oskam het boerenbedrijf uit de boedel van zijn schoonmoeder..
