Een dochter, gehuwd met Cent Pietersz, heet ook uitsluitend Maritgen Jansdr.Zoon Joost staat in 1627 als Joost Jansen in het trouwboek van Rijsnburg.In het rechterlijk archief van deze heerlijkheid wordt de stamvader op 21 juni 1630 Jan Joostensz Lippens genomed.In 1645 schrijft men te Rijnsburg Jan Joostensz Lipses.Vanaf 1646 is het steeds Lipsius. Een mogleijke verklaring voor de naamsaanneming is dat Jan Joostensz, vlasser te Rijnsburg, afkomstig was van Ter lips, de nabij Voorschoten gelegen adellijke behuizing.
Waarschijnlijk heeft hij of zijn vader in de omgeving van dit huis gewoond.
