Biografie
Woonde in Groningen. Zoon van landbouwer Ceüs Hoff (10 november 1862 Bedum - 17 januari 1932 Uithuizen) en Pieterke de Vries (25 augustus 1860 Winsum, Groningen - 24 december 1942 Usquert). Huwde op 14 mei 1914 met Saphia Wijpkema (31 augustus 1891Harkstede, gemeente Slochteren - 19 augustus 1960 Groningen). Machinist/elektricien/machinehandelaar. Zowel bij de Oorlogsgravenstichting als de Erelijst van Gevallenen staat de aantekening dat hij deel uit maakte van het verzet (2*). Volgens de Oorlogsgravenstichting is Hoff gefusilleerd. Zijn naam staat met 45 andere oorlogsslachtoffers uit Bedum op de plaquette bij een gedenkraam in het gemeentehuis aan de Schoolstraat in Bedum.
(1*) De Erelijst van Gevallenen vermeldt dat Hoff in Huckelhoven (de stad heet Hückelhoven) is overleden.
(2*) De naam Hoff ontbreekt in het verzetsarchief van het Oorlogs- en Verzetscentrum Groningen. In het boek Verzet in Groningen komt zijn naam evenmin voor op de lijst van omgekomen verzetsdeelnemers uit de provincie Groningen in de jaren 1940-1945.
(3*) Het is mogelijk dat hij officieel in Bedum was ingeschreven of dat hij daar was ondergedoken. Hoff was in ieder geval uit Bedum afkomstig.

Begraven op het Katholische Friedhof in Kückhoven (Duitsland).
