Op 14 oktober 1942 kreeg Victor de oproep ondertekend door Ferdinand Hugo aus der Fünten (*) om zich twee dagen later (16 oktober 1942 met zijn gezin te melden (om vervolgens te worden getransporteerd naar één van de vernietigingskampen (Auschwitz - Sobibór) en te worden vermoord). Eén of twee dagen na de oproep is Victor met zijn gezin ondergedoken in Limburg.

Op enig moment verhuisden Victor en Jeanne Nora naar Luik (B) en kregen via de bisschop van Luik een baan aangeboden bij de adelijke familie Baron en Barones Francois de Moffarts d'Houchenée op het kasteel gevestigd aan 14 Avenue Emile Demot in Ouchenée (F). Victor als butler en Jeanne Nora als huishoudster. De familie Moffarts wist niet dat Victor en Jeanne Nora gehuwd, noch van Joodse afkomst waren. Omdat, naar het gevoel van Victor en Jeanne Nora, de Moffarts veel contact hadden met militairen besloten ze hun banen op te zeggen en het kasteel te verlaten.

* Ferdinand Hugo (Ferdy) aus der Fünten (Mülheim an der Ruhr, 17 december 1909 – Duisburg, 19 april 1989) was de ter dood veroordeelde Duitse oorlogsmisdadiger die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog de feitelijke leiding gaf aan de deportatie van tienduizenden Joden, met name vanuit Amsterdam. Tevens was hij betrokken bij talrijke razzia's. Hij behoorde tot de 'Vier van Breda' (samen met de oorlogsmisdadigers Franz Fischer, Joseph Kotalla en Willy Lages). Aanvankelijk veroordeeld tot de doodstraf maar gegratieerd door Koningin Juliana zat hij een levenslange gevangenisstraf uit voor oorlogsmisdaden en werd in januari 1989 om gezondheidsredenen vrijgelaten. Tweeëntachtig dagen na zijn vrijlating overleed hij in Duisburg aan de gevolgen van een hersenbloeding. Hij werd 79 jaar oud.
