Notes about Johannes Catharinus "de Admiraal" de Ruijter de Wildt

Johannes Catharinus de Ruyter de Wildt, geboren te Herwijnen op 29 september 1877, overleden te Hoorn op 15 mei 1950. Hij had als bijnaam "de admiraal".

De Ruyter de Wildt was doctor ingenieur in de chemie en was directeur van o.a. het Rijkslandbouwproefstation in Leiden. Op latere leeftijd kwam hij naar Hoorn en kreeg een functie bij het proefstation aan het Keern in Hoorn. Verder maakte hij in Hoorn deel uit van de gemeenteraad in de periode van 28 december 1937 tot 31 augustus 1941.

Hij was voorzitter van de postzegelvereniging te Hoorn. In 1935 bestond deze postzegelclub, afdeling West-Friesland, 30 jaar. Ter ere hiervan ontving de voorzitter zijn getekend portret in lijst.
