Notes about Aesghe Aesghes Heringa

Komt als Asga Aesgha de kramer (marskramer?) voor onder LST 264. Hij staat ook bekend als Aesgen op den Keller omdat hij jarenlang in de Kelders van het Sint Jacobsgasthuis in Leeuwarden heeft gewoond. Het werd gebouwd in 1478 blijkbaar voor adel van buiten de stad die een plek nodig had om te verblijven en voor arme mensen. Maakte in 1529 als schepen deel uit van het Leeuwarder stadsbestuur. Hij was als zodanig op 28 mei van dat jaar ondertekenaar van de overeenkomst tussen stadsbestuur en kerkvoogden van Oldehove c.s. enerzijds, en meester Jacob van Aaken anderzijds, betreffende het bouwen van een nieuwe kerk en toren te Oldehove. Hij woonde in 1511 in Minnema-Espel (RvdA 16.12) en bezat land in de Klokslag van Leeuwarden en onder Ryptsjerk. Hij was met onderbrekingen schepen van Leeuwarden van 1512 to 1531.Op 9 augustus 1532 was hij nog in leven en woonachtig in Minnema-Espel (GaL. L 83 fol. 4).
