VII.8. Elisabeth van Merode (1267-). Zij trouwde met Johann Lewe (1270-) burgemeester van Keulen. Hij was een zoon van Gerhard Lewe (1250-) schepen van Aken. Zijn vader was een kleinzoon van Godfried van Leuven graaf van Herstal, Gaasbeek, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw en Baucigny en Maria van Oudenaarde vrouwe van Pamel, Baucigny en Herve

Christiaan Lewe (1300-na 1364), in 1338 schepen te Aken en van 1346 tot 1364 burgemeester van Aken. Zijn kleindochter Margaretha Chorus trouwde met Coenraad I van Schaesberg heer van Schaesberg (1331-1379) die op zijn beurt de grootvader was van Joris van Retersbeek.
