Notitie bij Jan: Had als bijnaam ,, Dikke Jan"
In 1910 begon hij samen met A.Reijnders een timmerbedrijf.
In 1920 begon hij voor zichzelf samen met zijn zoon Wichert, in 1924 kwam zijn zoon Libertus ook in het bedrijf.
In 1936 brandde het bedrijf af, het woonhuis bleef gespaard.
In 1945 toen Jan was overleden hebben Wichert en Libertus samen het bedrijf voortgezet.
Wegens gebrek aan een opvolger is het bedrijf in 1976 opgeheven.
