Notes about Hendrik Jansen

Met Elisabeth Rerig eerst gevaren op een binnenvaartschip over de Rijn.
Nadat een aantal kinderen aan boord waren overleden (overboord, in ruim gevallen), is vrouw met kinderen aan de wal gaan wonen in Duitsland (Rurgebied).
Bij het uitbreken van de eerste wereldoorlog moesten buitenlanders het land uit.
Bij de grens kon Hendrik Jansen zich aanmelden als mijnwerker. Daarop kreeg hij van de mijn een splinternieuwe woning aangewezen, aan de Melchiorstraat 8 te Schaesberg.
Daar hebben ze de rest van hun leven gewoond.
Clara Jansen en haar man Michel Veldman woonden er daarna in. Na hun overlijden is de woning verkocht.
