    Melchior moet welhaast een nazaat zijn geweest van Jacob van Bleiswijk, overl. ca. 1342|43, en
    Wendelmoet (of Alijt ?) N.N., weduwe in 1343, wier zoon heer Claes Jacobsz. van Bleiswijck,
    kanunnik en overl. in 1380, de prebende fundeerde. Melchior moet beslist afstammen van een van
    diens naaste bloedverwanten. In aanmerking komen hiervoor Claes' , broer Pieter of zusters
