Geplaatst op 9 november 2013 door nanneoedsz Boerenknecht, landarbeider, geboren op 25-02-1920 te Drogeham, overleden op 11-04-1974 op 54-jarige leeftijd. Begraven te Drogeham. Als je op zaterdagmiddag in Surhuisterveen op De Kolk was, kon je Aan Nicolai ontmoeten bij de ‘Feanster Toer’ waar hij zijn kunsten aan de bevolking toonde. Daar stond hij met zijn fiets, een zadel omgekeerd op de voorstang gelast, voeten op de trappers, stilstaand en met de jeugd pratend.Voor menig kind was hij de held, de circusartiest die gratis zijn bijzondere kunsten vertoonde. Zijn bijnaam Aan Rus dankte hij aan het feit dat hij enige tijd lang zwart haar had en daarbij nog een zwarte baard droeg. aan_rus_nicolai
