In 1797 was hij weer gestationeerd te Groningen.

Het regiment werd opgericht in 1688 als Regiment Duyn. In 1729 werd het Regiment Pallandt toegevoegd als 2e eskadron, in 1753 gevolgd door het Regiment Nassau-La Leck als 3e eskadron. In 1795 ?(Franse tijd)? werd het verdeeld over het 1e Regiment Zware Cavalerie.
