    Ten tijde van zijn 3e huwelijk, voltrokken te Rotterdam, verbleef en woonde Gijsbert ook te Rotterdam op het adres 't Hang. Wellicht lag hij daar tijdelijk met zijn schip. Adrianus; het enige kind uit dit 3e huwelijk; is nog in 1708 in Rotterdam geboren. Het lijkt er echter verder op dat hij getogen en gestorven is in Leiden en daar een uitgebreid gezin heeft gesticht. Dit wijst er op dat het echtpaar Gijsbert en Jannette zich uiteindelijk in Leiden heeft gevestigd of dat Leiden voor dit schippersgezin meer "thuisbasis" was dan Rotterdam.
