Hoe onverbiddelijk de dood is, zien wij weer bewaarheid in het plotselinge sterfgeval van den heer Johannes Jacobus Majoor.

In het begin dezer week was het 75 jaar geleden dat de zaak,(waaraan de overledene sinds zijn schooljaren zijn beste krachten heeft gegeven),werd opgericht en enkle dagen later werd hij opgeroepen uit
dit leven.

Ten kantore der vennootschap werd de heer Majoor gisterenmorgen getroffen door een hartverlamming,die een einde maakte aan zijn leven dat zeker welbesteed is geweest.

Ongeveer 50 jaar heeft de heer J.J.Majoor tezamen met zijn broer den wijlen heer P.H.Majoor,aan het hoofd gestaan der sigarenfabriek,waarvan hun vader de eerste steen legde en welke industrie door de
gebroeders werd uitgebouwd tot een groot bedrijf.

In 1918 ,toen de zaken der Gebroeders Majoor in een naamloze vennootschap werden omgezet,werd de thans ontslapene een der directeuren.

De heer majoor was een stille werker,die zijn groote werklust in de eerste plaats aan zijn eigen bedrijf deed ten goede komen.

De teraardebestelling van den heer Majoor die in den leeftijd van 63 jaar bereikte, is bepaald op Maandag 15 Juni te 2.30 uur n.m op de begraafplaats Duinrust.
