In de Delftsche Courant van 21 november 1934 adverteert de Fa. Nic. Jense: "Wist U dat de Fa. Nic. Jense, Beestenmarkt nr. 31, een prima Rijwiellamp verkoopt voor f 3,90 en een wringer (fabr. "Acme") voor 12,=?"

Nicolaas woonde aanvankelijk in de Vriesstraat te Delft. Heeft later een rijwielhandel gehad in Zeist. Omdat dit echtpaar geen kinderen had, is de zaak na de dood van Nico overgegaan aan Cornelis Martinus Carrière, die al in de zaak werkte en door Nico werd beschouwd als een aangenomen zoon. De zaak in Zeist bestaat nog steeds en heeft de naam N. Jense om zakelijke redenen aangehouden.
