Doecke van Hettinga, ,ook Duco,, overleden 14 dec 1632.
Op 23-9-1617 aangesteld als kapitein.
Hij woonde na huwelijk met zijn vrouw op Hettingastate te Jorwerd.

Doecke was gehuwd met Anna Douwesdr van Hottinga, overleden 1638, dochter van Douwe van Hottinga en Luts van Herema.
In 1638 is er voor haar als weduwe inventarisatie van haar eigendommen uit de boedel.Zie GJB 1969-19.

De Hettinga State stond iets ten westen van de kerk van Jorwerd, v/h gemeente Baarderadeel, nu Littenseradiel.
Ontstaan
Geschiedenis In "Baerderadiel, in geakunde" wordt slechts het volgende vermeld: "Hettinga-state, de boerderij waar nu K. Greydanus woont, was in 1616 het huis van Doeke Hettinga. De stins die daar stond, is in rond 1750 afgebroken".

Op de kaart van Christianus Schotanus werd Hettinga nog aangegeven met het teken voor een "Edele State". De kaart van François Halma uit 1718 toont het simpele rechthoekje dat hij gebruikt om de "gemeene huysen" aan te geven, dus zelfs niet het tekentje voor een hofstede. Ook op de Eekhoff-kaart van 1844 wordt niets aangegeven, dat duidt op een oorsprong van hoge status. Wel wordt door alle kaartenmakers de naam "Hettinga" vermeld.
