april 1792 Hiltje Pieters, geb. Midlum 23 aug. 1745, ged. aldaar 3 okt. 1745,
overl. aldaar 15 sept. 1822 (als Hiltje Pieters Jellema), dochter van Pieter
Pieters en Willemke Douwes.
Volgens het doopboek van Midlum werd hij geboren op 7 febr. 1742. Dat
is maar liefst twaalf jaar voor het huwelijk van zijn ouders en hij zou dan
bij de doop al 18 jaar oud zijn geweest. Bij zijn overlijden in 1824 werd
opgegeven dat hij toen 70 jaar oud was. Het ligt dan toch meer voor de
hand dat hij rond 1754 geboren is (en dit geboortejaar past ook beter bij
de datum van zijn eerste huwelijk). Ook over de naam van zijn moeder
bestaat onzekerheid, want volgens de overlijdensakte was hij een zoon
van Andries Alberts Jellema en Tetje Heerts.
Hij erft in 1793 ruim f 1200 van zijn oom Johannes Jellema, in leven
predikant te Makkinga.24
Zijn eerste vrouw Wytske Fokkes overleed kort na de geboorte van hun
zoon Andries. Volgens de bijlagen bij het huwelijk van hun zoon in 1830
was zij een dochter van Fokke Durks en Jeltje Pieters.
