Lang heb ik kunnen genieten van mijn oude dag en uw goede zorg. Jan, moeder en ik hebben je een voorbeeld willen geven. Als ge niet als de kinderen wordt, zult ge het rijk der hemelen niet beerven. Mijn God, letterlijk hebt ge dit aan hem voltrokken. Met wat een geduld en liefde heeft zijn vrouw hem verzorgd. Hoe tevreden is hij steeds geweest: Altijd heb ik goede bazen gehad. Als opperman kon hij werken voor twee. Hij heeft overal zijn vrienden gemaakt. De beproevingen heeft hij geduldig gedragen. Laat ons bidden voor zijn eeuwig geluk: Mijn God, die het leven schenkt om U te ..nden, die de verlossing geeft om met U eeuwig gelukkig te kunnen zijn, reken Pieter Hendrikus zijn menselijke zwakheden niet te, maar geleid hem in de eeuwige vreugde om ook voor ons een voorspreker te kunnen zijn.
