Norbertus Bols was te Weelde geboren in 1691 als zoon van Jacobus Bols. Hij was geneesheer te Turnhout en hij werd door zijn huwelijk met Isabella Van Laer, dame van Arendonk, in 1733 in de adelstand verheven. Voortaan heette hij Bols d'Arendonck.


 


 


Sa seconde épouse était Marie Elisabeth Josèphe van
Laere, Dame de la Franchise d'Arendonck, Draekenhoff en Lille, Beerse,
Gierle, Lichtaard ; ce ne fut donc que après son second mariage que Norbert
François Bols fit le relief de d'Arendonck et qu'on le qualifie de Bols
seigneur d'Arendonck.


 


L'anoblissement de Norbert François Bols date aussi d'après son second
mariage: "anobli par lettre du 7 novembre 1733, Liste des titres de
noblesse, chevalerie et autres marques d'honneur, p 124, J. Ermens, 1784 et
"Le 7. Novembre (1733) , annoblissement (lire anoblissement( à
Norbert-François Bols, Seigneur de la franchise d'Arendonck à Turnhout en
Brabant." source "Placcaeten, ordonnantien, landt-chartres, blyde-incomsten,
