Notes about Folcke Bottes Graetingha (Grottinga)

Boer, landeigenaar en kerkvoogd, woonde te Surhuizum.

Folcke Botteszn Grottinga was in 1543 kerkvoogd te Surhuizum. Hij zal kerkvoogd en bewaarder van de Prebende (bezit van de kerk) van de Roomse kerk, want dat was tot 1580 de enige officiële. Rond 1550 is er een proces geweest voor het Hof van Friesland tussen de abt van Gerkesklooster en Folcke Grottinga die het niet eens waren over hun bezit van veenland onder Surhuizum(zie 'Faenster Flucht') van S.J.v.d. Molen.
In 1569 kocht hij land te Tolbert. Zoon Deege heeft kennelijk het grootste deel van het land van zijn vader in Surhuizum overgenomen( hij was ''koninklijk notaris''). In 1606 is er nog sprake van een Grottingaheerd in Surhuizum.
