      In 1661 waren er op Urk24 landers, die elk als eerste ongeveer 16 en een halve kruidel (kruiwagen) hooi mochten afsnijden voordat iedereen gebruik mocht maken van het hooiland.
      De afscheidingen tussen de kaveltjes (kampen genoemd) waren gebrekkig en leverde onenigheid op. Ook stonden de hooirechten niet op papier maar bestonden zij uit mondelinge overlevering. Een hooirechter of landrecht sprak recht bij meningsverschil. Als hij er niet uit kwam vergaderden de landers in de kerk, werd er “landerskerk”gehouden. In 1769 waren er 29 landers en de gemeente die hooirecht eisten. De landerskerk besloot uiteindelijk het land opnieuw op te meten en in te delen en opnieuw vastte stellen wie recht hadden.
